WebNov 24, 2011 · The server is in lab environment and what is newly configured is NAT to connect it in production network. now, it is connected to prod by pinging the IP address of servers but can't ping by hostname. already exported the dns servers from prod network to the server but still encountered the same. Code: WebPing uses the DNS name to resolve, not the NetBIOS name... you need to add entries in whatever service or device is providing your DNS names. If you don't have a DNS server running, you'll probably need to set up a basic one.
